Ammanford AFC is delighted to introduce the addition of a brand new fanzone inside the Recreation Ground ahead of the first home game of the 2026/2027 Novira Cymru Premier Campaign.
Friday night sees the club compete in the top flight in Carmarthenshire for the very first time with a large crowd expected to attend.
The marquee will be open from 6pm and will mark the first time that Ammanford AFC has served alcohol inside the ground since the club moved from Rice Road two decades ago.
There will be a selection of beers, ciders, wine, stout, soft drinks and spirits for sale inside. Entry is free once inside the ground but under 18’s will not be permitted to access the facility.
The Jac Lewis Foundation Building will still be operating and selling a selection of food, confectionery and hot drinks.
Interim supporters liaison officer Matthew Wallace stated, “As a club, we’re always looking at ways of improving and adding to the matchday experience and one of the things that has cropped up quite regularly is a place to enjoy a drink before the game.
“This is something we’ve been working on for a number of months and thanks to the hard work of the committee and Dai Morgan, it has come to fruition in time for our historic night.
“We hope our supporters can enjoy it and help build an atmosphere ahead of this milestone season.”
Supporter Craig Davies added, “The supporters I’ve spoken to are very excited about the introduction of the fan zone. It’s the type of thing supporters have wanted for a while.
“I think it gives an opportunity for people to congregate in one place, have some banter and discuss the match and season whereas before people would tend to come in and scatter straight away.
“From a social aspect, it’s a brilliant idea.”
The fanzone is just one of a number of changes that crowds can expect to see at the Recreation Ground. We hope to see you there in your numbers tomorrow night to see some of the hard work that has been going on at the club since April.
